We Are The Friction

I love these book covers, by indie publishing blokies, Sing Statistics. They’re a collab of illustrators and designers and I can’t get enough of this awesomely Brechtian (sorry – drama child) way of spoiling everything and setting up expectations by giving you the facts right there on a very nicely designed and quite beautiful plate.

I’ve been thinking about what the Bim cover might say…

1 boy
1 girl
17 instruments
1m cups of tea
8 pannels of acoustic treatment
6 pirates
An encounter with some Greeks

…What do you think Bimlets?

Hey, it’s stopped snowing let’s all go out and play dancing on ice* : )

Bim the Band!

// March 14th, 2009 // 6 Comments » // Live Music, Music

It finally happened last night…

Since Bim was released yonks ago, we’ve been searching for a way to play our tunes live. The trial and error method meant spending a long time messing with backingtracks, PA systems equipped for screamy rock bands, various musicians and learning how to use a mic when you can’t hear what’s coming out of your mouth.

So when it clicked last night with our wonderful line up: Tim on keys, Adam on bass, Ellie on vox/synths and (finally, an amazing drummer!) Dave, we had those smiles that make your cheeks ache.

So excited : )

This photo may or may not have been utterly posed... : )
