TWO delightful things, chappies.

(ONE)
Today was the day I discovered Chess the musical by Benny & Bjorn from Abba. Now, I think Abba are disgustingly fantastic. I love their songs, I adore their harmonies, I used to believe I was Agnetha. Actually, I AM Agnetha. Oh, ja.

I also admit that Tim Rice is some sort of musical deity, and it just so happens that he collabs with B & B on Chess. I’ll say no more apart from “ooohhhhhh, jaaaaaaaaaaa…. Ohhhhhhh….” Because that’s the noise you have to make when listening to Elaine Paige sing awesome musical songs that you didn’t know existed.

Benny og Bjorn - Stockholm

You think I’m weird. It’s fine.

While I was at Uni, I took a course on Dance Anthropology. I am so inspired and excited by learning about cultures and people, so I thought this module rocked my socks. I decided to write my thesis about Morris Dancing – I know, Morris dancing is HOT right now. While I was generally drowning in weird folk dance books, I discovered this Spinal-Tap style spoof docu-film was being made, but it had no distributor, which was all rubbish and stuff and meant I never got to see it. ANYWAY, they managed to show it in little village halls all over the country and everyone thought it was so gnarly that they finally got a distributor, and it’s out this Sunday 27th in a cinema neeearrr yoooooouuuu.

It’s called Morris: A Life With Bells On and I encourage you to go and see it. : ) Watch the trailer by clicking the link above…
