Singing in the rain…

// April 27th, 2009 // No Comments » // Music

How rubbish was the rain today? I was fooled by the sunny loveliness over the past week that it was “summer”…

However, undeterred, I marched outside clad in rain mac and hi-tops (an interesting combo, I’ll agree), to my singing lesson in Camden. It’s a new place that I’m trying, as I like to get as many different teachers to get the widest perspective on the voice. Today I was going to VoxBox, for a lesson in Speech Level Singing (SLS).

SLS singers include Stevie Wonder, Prince, Madonna… You get the picture. Check out Seth Riggs (SLS creator) and Brett Manning (has awesome DIY SLS CDs and stagey but helpful YouTube lessons with singers like Hayley Williams). It’s an incredible technique, that opens up tons of possibility and I came out my lesson all buzzing (and resonant, and speech-level…)

And I did a bit of this…

Well done George, for kicking a dragon’s ass.

Now let’s celebrate our great nation with a traditional meal.

Beans, Innit.

Yay or Nay?

I’m still not decided whether lusting after these obscenely inappropriate and wickedly expensive booties makes me clinically insane.

Yay? Nay?

But alas, in the sad little world in which I cannot afford a pink sparkly megaphone and YSL cage boots, I will spend my hours (procrastinating on some stupid essays I have to edit) and reading L O V E magazine*. Yes, people, screw Cupid, I’ve got the first edition of Love magazine and I’m going to get into bed now, with some Moroccan mint tea (stolen from my mummy’s cupboard this Easter) and read about wonderful fashion fiends.

Laters! x

*Thank you Tim :D

Now all I need to do…

// April 6th, 2009 // No Comments » // Fashion, Live Music, Music, Uncategorized

is find $2,500, and a reason to buy a rhinestone megaphone

It’s so pretty…

The online store belongs to electro-trend band, HeartsRevolution. I love Lo’s pinky-pink stripe across her face… : ) Maybe I’ll buy me some face paint to make up for the lack of sparkly megaphones… (Or I could just buy that mic I’ve been after for so long, and cover it in glitter….

xx
